There are easier options for parents to educate their children. The very sacrifices you make to enjoy a Holy Savior School education will be a powerful sign of the importance of education to your child. Our alumni are consistently in the top ten of area high school graduating classes. Our students are challenged academically, in the context of also developing their moral, religious and spiritual identities. They learn self discipline, to interact positively with others, and the importance of being well rounded as they discover their unique gifts. Our students are prepared to live lives of joy and hope in a challenging time.
Our class sizes are small. This allows our well trained and fully certified teachers to identify and meet the educational needs of each student. Students have the opportunity to bond with their classmates and learn how celebrate their gifts and overcome their difficulties. Our child centered approach ensures that a student cannot hide behind the achievement of others; they need to participate fully to the best of their abilities. Finally, we depend on parental involvement. This creates a spirit of camaraderie among the adults and provides for many opportunities for intergenerational learning both within and outside the classroom.
In addition to building a sense of community within the school, our students are taught the importance of being good citizens. In response to the Gospel values of Jesus, our students engage in many charitable activities: collecting food for the poor, sponsoring families at Christmas, raising money for St. Jude Hospital and other charities and visiting area nursing homes to sing or play games with residents. Our students are the centerpiece of our educational ministry at the Parish of the Holy Savior, and frequently contribute to our liturgies and other parish activities. Non Catholic students are encouraged to be active members in their own community of faith. Our students learn that they have a great deal to offer others, and that they need to respect the contributions of others.
Catholic education has been in this area for nearly one hundred years. Our parish generously subsidizes our school, so we are able to offer a partial scholarship to parishioners who wish to attend our school. Through fundraising and the generosity of alumni and other benefactors, we are also able to offer limited tuition assistance to any family in need. Our fervent hope is that no child will be prevented from the benefits of a Holy Savior School education because of finances.
