To transform the world one student at a time
At Holy Savior Catholic School we believe that a Catholic education is not so much an education for Catholics as it is an education from a Catholic perspective. The real value of a Catholic education is that it offers a broad, expansive, vision of education rooted in the dignity of the human person as a being in relation to the created world, other human beings, and God. The value of a Catholic education is that it is Personal, Relational, Inclusive, Missionary, and Excellent (P.R.I.M.E.)
Setting our standards far above test scores, with new ardor, methods, and expressions of education that combine 21st century technology with traditional educational models, Holy Savior Catholic School’s curriculum and approach to education integrates the four essential pillars of formation, mind, body, soul and heart, to help every individual student become their very best and to flourish as human beings while also helping them to recognize their God-given gifts and to fulfill their unique mission to serve others and transform the world.
Driven by our love for Jesus Christ and a passion to make Him known, Holy Savior Catholic School aspires to evangelize, or transform, our community by means of offering a Catholic primary education to young people who desire “something more”.
To evangelize means to hand on “the Art of Living.” Our aim is human flourishing, and so we strive to offer an integral education that goes beyond test-scores and seeks to developed whole human beings: body, mind, soul, and heart.
We believe the glory of God is man fully alive and that Christ is the vision of man. We desire our students to know Jesus that they might experience what it means to be truly human, completely free, and fully alive.
In doing so we hope to change the story of Catholic education in Maine. We hope in 10 years to renew education and advance the story by evolving the methods and expanding the possibilities for education in rural Maine.
